Tahitian pearl
Born in the lagoons of the South Pacific, where one of the world’s slowest-growing oysters forms one of nature’s rarest treasures – the Tahiti pearl. It can take up to 5 years for the black oyster, Pinctada margaritifera, to form the final millimeter of its unique black-gray nacre (mother-of-pearl layer). During this time, the oyster continuously filters the seawater of our ocean – each Tahiti pearl purifies up to 4 million L of seawater. In this way, you actively help purify as much water as the annual household needs of 80 people. Thank you for making it possible for us to make our world’s oceans a little cleaner <3
